The last week before the summer season and badly reviewed sex thriller “obsessed” wins the day. sigh. Other debuts included “The Soloist” and “Fighting” though niether set the box-office on fire.

It was Zac Efron’s week as his new bodyswap comedy claimed first prize at the Box-Office. Jason Statham on the other hand must be reeling, his hardcore action sequel “Crank: High Voltage” flopped in at no.6.

Miley Cyrus claimed the big prize this week, as “Hannah Montana: The Movie” cruised to the top spot with a solid opening weekend. On the other hand debuts like “Observe and Report” and “Dragonball Evolution” where varying degrees of disapointing in their Box-Office performance.

The latest Nicolas Cage thriller was critically panned but managed to produce decent numbers and make it to the top of the Box-Office. On the other hand new films I Love You, Man and Duplicity faired only slightly better than average, despite consistently decent reviews.

This weekend was quieter than it was last year but the latest Disney film still found time to enjoy a decent opening at the top spot.
