Scrubs – The Complete Sixth Season
Release Date: 10/30/07
The Show
For one reason or another, I never got around to watching Scrubs. Maybe it’s because I got my fill of medical dramas that a hospital comedy seemed a bit too much for me, but missing out on the series is something I really regret, especially after spending time with The Complete Sixth Season. The outrageous comedy set at Sacred Heart really hit its high notes with some zany episodes and off the charts humor.
Essentially following the ins and outs of the doctors of Sacred Heart as they try to live their lives and save some at the same time, the series is quite possibly one of the quirkiest shows on television with an in your face style of random bits and comedy. While past episodes made a point to mix in the drama, the episodes from this season kicked up the zany humor a notch. JD and Kim, Turk and Carla, and Dr. Cox and Jordan are all expecting babies and they also manage to find their way onto an unforgettable road trip. With all that said, these episodes serve as merely a backbone to the barrage of daydreams and jokes that inundate the episodes.
The 3-disc set comes with all 22 episodes from the sixth season with a Play All option found on each disc.

The DVD
The main menu provided comes with an introduction, music, and animated backgrounds. Submenus are treated similarly, and overall, these menu screens look great and complement the series perfectly.
The video transfer is offered in 1.33:1 Fullscreen Format. The picture certainly looks better than anything on broadcast television. Details are sharp and colors are bright and on point. The widescreen picture looks exceptionally good with only a few fleeting moments of pixilation and compression issues.
The audio is offered in English Dolby Digital 5.1, French Dolby Digital 5.1, and Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1. Overall, it’s serviceable for a television sitcom. Voices and laugh track are crisp and I have no complaints. Submenus are included in English, French, and Spanish.
The Extras
The 3-disc set comes in a fold-out digipak and glossy cardboard case. The episode list is printed on the digipak.
Audio Commentary tracks are included for every episode offered by various members of the cast and crew.
My Making Of: My Musical runs about 11-minutes and takes us behind the scenes of the episode. Interviews with the cast and crew are offered that provide us with the trials and tribulations of doing an episode like this.
Judy Reyes Keeps Talking offers a 7-minute piece of just what the title implies: Reyes speaks on her experience on the show from audition to set.
There are 12 Deleted Scenes with a Play All option. Also included are 13 Alternate Lines options that also include a Play All option.
The “Third Tier” offers an 8-minute piece that goes into those characters that exist on the show for a single joke.
The Debra and Stephanie Show offers 7-minutes of the two speaking about the musical episode.
Final Thoughts
Scrubs – The Complete Sixth Season definitely delivered on the laughs. For fans, this will be an absolute purchase. Those uninitiated with the series should rent this season without any prior experience with the series. Overall, this is a quality set for a hilarious show.
